So I'm sitting at my desk and the frying pan bouy says 9.2 at 16 seconds, and the surf cam shows the wind at 5 mph?

And I'm SITTING AT MY DESK?

Oh well, I have a feeling the wind won't stay down long enough for me to get anywhere near the water.

But seriously, 9.2 at 16 secs? I didn't see that in any forecasts.

Thursday or Friday?

Well, I have the opportunity to take a day off this week. Looking at the forecast for the end of the week looks like some swell. Yesterday I was thinking Thursday looked good. Today, Thursday is still looking good, but it also looks like Friday might have some potential.

At the moment I'm still leaning toward Thursday. Will Friday get blown flat?

Anyone want to offer an opinion? What day will be better at WB? Thursday or Friday?

to know which way the wind blows.

Ok, so while Robert Zimmerman does have a way with words, and I certainly can walk outside (or check a cam, although I don't think that's what he had in mind) and see for myself the current wind direction, what I do need help with is which way the wind will be blowing in the future. And instead of a weatherman, maybe a meteorologist.

So, I do need a meteorologist to know which way the wind will blow in the future.

Ok, checking out ww3 on my lunch break today and for buoy 41013 on Friday there is a swell vector that is saying that there will be less than a half meter swell at around 16-17 seconds and going in a direction of 300 degrees. Is that even remotely possible. How does a swell regardless of how small get that spread out and organized in that short of a fetch? I was looking for storm way off that the wave might be bumping in from, but then I noticed the direction of travel and it didn't make...

Due to the geographic orientation of our house in reference to the Dunkin Donuts store, when the wind blows out of the north, I can smell donuts when Im walking our dog.

I sat it out today, took a tour of WB breaks this afternoon, dont know if I coulda made the paddle out, but it looked doable if you got lucky.

Thinking about TI or HB in the morning. Im leaning towards HB, afraid it might be too side shore at TI. I dont have to be at work until noon tomorrow, but with an hour...

decided to take the rigid inflatable to mase around 1:45 today and man was i glad i did....VERY light winds....glassy.....peaks with some rights and lefts.....size was waist to sholder on peaks but i had forgotten that mase has a little more power......VERY small crowd but some good surfing going on....hope everyone got on some today....will be hitting it early tomorrow..

Getting back into the swing of things after a little trip.

Looks to me like south, or southeast facing beach for Tuesday, March 21; then southeast facing beach for Wednesday.

Nothing big, but should be rideable, especially up north.

Sat. 3/25 and Sun. Looking to build some size from the N.E. as an odd sorta Low system builds off of Yucatan, zips across Florida, and bounces right into our front yard.

I'll probably be in Asheville, but maybe not....

Tuesday:

Look around T.I. Sideshore perhaps. Should wrap in at around waist high.

Wednesday:

If at all possible, stop whatever you are doing, and head somewhere south of Rodanthe.
This could be a major event.
Pray for at least side-shore wind.
Keep doing those exercises.

If somebody in my carpool could talk me into being sick in the morning, then I would be somewhere south of Rodanthe around dark:30.

Not as clean as Feb. 2 (thanks for updating the archive 'massa).
But definitely one you'll want to get on.

Looks like the wind quarters off from the NW early, then slacks to around 15 mid-morning from the west.

NWW3 shows the big windwave (barely makes it above an 8 second period) dying quickly, but I have my doubts about that....

Just a puff to keep the stoke tinder smoldering.

Looks like the un-official first day of spring to me.

Sun is up-azimuth a few degrees, infra-red levels up, UV kickin' in. Here it comes folks.

Little regularly scheduled blow from the What?; NNW this weekend into Monday?
